Last Thursday Meeting: July 23, 2020
About 20-25 people joined for this meeting. We are glad that more ladies are now joining our meeting.
Songs, poetry recital and jokes by our members provided the entertainment. Kanwal Talwar mentioned that ICCC is supporting Ekal Vidayalya Foundation, which a non-profit organization, promoting education in the remote areas in India. It has affiliations in Canada as well as in USA, and they have charitable organization status in the respective countries. A virtual live concert playing Bollywood music was held by Ekal Vidayala Foundation on July 25, and it appeared to have been a huge success. The largest single donation from one Canadian family was more than $100,000.
Any one wishing to make a donation, may make it through ICCC, and 100% of the donated money will be transferred to Ekal Vidayala.
This Thursday Meeting: July 30, 2020
This being the month-end meeting of July, we will be celebrating birthdays of the members born in this month. According to our records, July born are: Amrit Khosla, Maya Pareek, Vijay Chopra, Anand Vaid, Kuldip Jande and Manider Singh. Please let me know, if we have missed anyone.
We will have our usual songs and poetry recital. Invariably, there will be some questions and discussion about how coronavirus could affect our lives in the months, and perhaps years, to come.
Mahmood will be making a presentation with the title: China - a contrarian View.
Please let me know well in advance, if you would like to make a presentation on some topic of common interest.
