Dear Friends,

Greetings!

Spring is finally here to stay! It's been a very pleasant weekend. Most folks have been out busy in their gardens. Mandatory social distancing remains in force. We will continue to connect with each other in our weekly ZOOM meetings. Last Friday, approximately 60 members attended. It was lovely to see everyone.


The program for this Friday's Zoom Meeting:

10:00 - 10:30.... Pranayam by Girija Waghray
10:30 - 12:00.....Information Sharing, Songs, Poetry and Jokes.
(Those who wish to perform, please come prepared with your item.)

Mr. Anil Sukhija will continue to Host and Coordinate the meetings.

ICCC encourages and welcomes other seniors to join in to connect with us on ZOOM to dispel boredom and loneliness during COVID-19 mandatory isolation.

If you are not registered in the NCR directory, you are missing out on important information sent out periodically by the ICCC President, and by the ICCC Chair Person.

The Indo-Canadian Community Centre would once again like to congratulate and thank all those who have generously:

Donated over $62,000 to date for its “ICCC COVID-19 RELIEF FUND” for the four charities namely:
1. The Ottawa Hospital,
2. Shepherds of Good Hope,
3. Ottawa Food Bank and
4. The Ottawa Mission, and

Provided several “in-kind” contributions, which include:
* Stitching of over 1500 face masks and gowns for front line workers and ICCC Seniors
*Over 350 meals (lunches or dinner - Indian cuisine) for front line medical staff of the 5 Ottawa Hospitals (Civic, General, Riverside, Montfort and Queensway–Carleton Hospitals) during the past 4 weeks
* Aid and support to Indian students in dire need
* Yoga and Pranayama classes to protect from COVID-19 virus
* Volunteer services for various Hospitals and COVID-19 Assessment Centres

ICCC Seniors Brain Health program meetings are held every Monday (10a.m.-12 noon). Activities include: Light exercises, brain games, art and cultural programs, etc. to keep seniors and their brains active.

EKAL Vidyalaya:
ICCC has also donated $25,500 to EKAL Vidyalaya to fund 4 life time schools for children, as well as for anemia treatment for 400 women under “Arogya Program” in Kerala.

ICCC Portal & website: icccottawa.org provides additional information on its various initiatives, programs, activities, events, updates on COVID-19, and to donate to the COVID-19 Relief Fund Campaign.

The community has shown that we can all be of great support to one another during these challenging times.
