Greetings!

Announcements:

1. Please note that the start time for this meeting is 2 PM. This change in time reflects the comments that we got from our members regarding the unsuitability for some people, of the earlier time. Since sitting at one place for such virtual meeting can become uncomfortable after a while, the duration of the meeting is about 90 minutes. Furthermore, to avoid incomprehensible discussion where more than one person is talking at the same time, I will request you to please 'raise hand' when you would like to say something.

2. Hindu Temple of Ottawa-Carleton is now broadcasting some of its ceremonies. To access them you would need to download the 'GoToMeeting' app and then click on the link below. A link is also available on the temple website.

Last Meeting: April 2, 2020

After 4 weeks of interruption, resulting from the lockdown due to the spread of COVID-19, this was the first time we were able to meet. It was our first virtual meeting where about 15 people joined. The meeting went on reasonably well, and we have taken measures to sort out some the bugs in the process of joining the meeting. Hopefully, things will proceed much more smoothly from now on. At this meeting, there was 'meet and greet' session just to know how everyone has been doing. Chandra and Ramachandran, were on hand to answer your questions about COVID-19.

This Meeting: April 9, 2020

This is our regular meeting, inviting people to recite poetry, jokes, songs, stories and other things of common interest. Please let me know well in advance, if you would like to make a presentation on some topic. There is a facility for screen sharing among the participants, which will permit a video presentation as well.

At this meeting I will play a radio interview about how children of mixed race feel and react to how others perceive them.

Joining the Meeting:

If you have not downloaded Zoom, then please do so well in advance of the meeting. In this process you will be asked some simple questions. Click or paste (in your browser) the link below to start the registration for the meeting. An email confirming your registration will contain instructions to join the meeting. Five minutes prior to the start of the meeting, open Zoom and join the meeting.

There is a feature to raise a virtual hand, which I will explain at the meeting.
