Fellow Seniors,

Greetings.

We came back on 18th from our trip to Spain, and now are in quarantine for 14 days due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We are doing fine so far, and with the help from family and friends (in particular, Vinni), we are managing well during our quarantine period.

Although the talk of Coronavirus is all over the media, below are some useful links (someone else compiled them) to messages from various levels of governments, which may help in clarifying any confusion in how to deal with the current situation, and what various terms mean.

I don't need to repeat any of the messages that we are getting from the health experts, but some time unusual situations arise which require some thought. As an example, if you think some extra help in household chores would be good, my suggestion is to try to do without it. This will avoid contact with an outside person who may or may not be the carrier for the virus. As a part of our quarantine, we are requesting people to leave things at our door, so that our social distance is maintained.

Social distance is a misnomer. What we really mean is the physical distance of about 2 metres. In fact, for good mental health, we must maintain social connections via telephone calls, chats on Skype, FaceTime, and Google duo (this connects up to 8 people for a video chat).

Some of you have asked us to share videos or other information with other members, we suggest that you post them on the Facebook Group - ICCC Seniors.
