Dear Friends,
Greetings! Warm greetings to all living in the "Winter Wonderland". If you haven't been to see the Ottawa's Winterlude, go check it out on Wednesday, when the weather forecast is mild and the ride on the public transport is free. Winterlude ends on Monday 17th February.
Next Friday we will celebrate Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is the celebration of Love and Affection. The dark origin of Valentine's Day....in the ancient Roman Era in the 3rd century A.D., Emperor Claudius II executed two men - both named Valentine - on February 14, of different years. Their martyrdom was honoured in the 5th century, by the Catholic Church, with the celebration of St. Valentine's Day. But, somewhere along the way Valentine's Day came to represent Romance! February 13 - 15 were also observed in ancient Rome as festival of Lupercalia, to avert evil spirits and purify the city, releasing Health and Fertility.
Weekly Program - Friday 14th February 2020
11:00-12:00......Yoga by Girija Waghray
12:00-13:00......Potluck Lunch by Team 1
13:00-14:45......Socializing, Songs, Jokes, and Information Sharing
14:45-1500.......Clear up and tidy up [with everyone's help]
13:00-14:30......Bridge
Please Note:
1} Bala Ji will teach Bridge from 13:00 till 14:30….PLEASE BE ON TIME.
2} Before we leave at 15:00 hours, we have to make sure we leave the rooms clean and tidy...at least, as tidy as we would like to find them. Participants in each room are responsible for any mess in the room that they are in, and before leaving, they should ensure that the room is clean and tidy.
3} Holi + Family Day Celebration on Saturday, 29th February 2020 {5:30-9:30 pm}. Tickets @ $25 per person. A few tickets are still available.
4} Presentation on Healthy Diet by a Guest Speaker on 21st February.
5} SNOW...Social Network Of Women is Celebrating International Women's Day on 4th April. Tickets go on sale by the end of this week at $35/Person.
Need Items for Auction {minimum Value $50}....all proceeds go to Interval House and Ottawa Mission.

Cheerful Note: Yesterday was Ground Hog Day......Phil, the Ground Hog, has predicted early spring.
