Dear Friends, Greetings!

We hope your hearts, and the hearts of the ones you love have kept you warm in this cold weather, and you are having an enjoyable holiday season. We wish you all a very happy new year. Let it bring to you all blessings of good health and joy in life.

We wish to reintroduce the celebration of birthdays of the members in a given month at the second potluck lunch. In the attached sheet we have entered the birth dates of some of the members based on the available information. Please correct it if it needs correction, and also add your name and birthdate if it is not on the sheet. In case you are unable to enter your data, send. me an email, and I shall enter the data.

Last Meeting: For the Christmas celebrations we had about 35 members, all of them contributed to a large variety of. very delicious food for the potluck lunch. A slide show containing a quiz was presented by Chandra to test the knowledge about Christmas. Many of the answers were quite hilarious which provided a lot of entertainment. Amrit read selected passages from Charles Dickens story Christmas Carols highlighting Scrooges’ profound transformation from very mean to a generous person. Arun added to our knowledge about why Christmas celebrated by Orthodox Christians is not on 25th December and the significance of the tree in its celebrations. Songs and poetry recitals by many members added to the enjoyment of the occasion.

Last Meeting (Jan. 10): There were about 15 people who enjoyed the delicious potluck lunch. The discussion of the meeting centred around the message we are giving to our MPP at our meeting on Jan. 24 and other concerns we may have. The issues regarding access to medical services, retirement homes their suitability and cost, home care support were discussed.
