Fellow Seniors,
At our earlier meetings, we had mentioned that a high school student is collecting donations for gift baskets to be given to the needy people at Christmas time. Here is a list of the most desirable items (from the email sent by Rita) for such baskets.
-Baby Diapers
-Baby Food & Formula
-Non perishable foods (canned fish & meat, canned vegetables & fruit, cereal, dry pasta & sauce, legumes, peanut butter, rice, canned stews & chili, school snacks, quick mixes, coffee, tea, juice, etc.)
-Hygienic products such as toothbrushes, toilet paper, deodorants etc. most importantly pads and tampons
-Toys in gently used condition for young children
If you would like to contribute any such item(s), please bring it over at our next meeting on Dec. 12. One of us will deliver those items to the organizer of the gift basket program. Any monetary contribution instead of, or in addition to, will permit us to purchase some more items, to add to the in-kind contribution.
Thanks,
Jagjit
