Posted: Wed Oct 23, 2019 11:02 pm
Dear Friends, Greetings!
Announcements:
1. Diwali celebration is planned at Palki restaurant from 5:30 - 9 PM, on Oct. 26, 2019. This event is now sold out.
Last Meeting - Oct. 17, 2019: About 10 people attended this meeting, and the discussion revolved mainly around gender equality and the rights of women especially in Hindu and Muslim societies.
Meeting - Oct. 24, 2019:
We will be celebrating Diwali at this meeting. Please come prepared with songs, stories and poems about Diwali, and bring any decorations you may have. For the potluck lunch, come with your favourite dishes in celebration of Diwali. We will be bringing sweets from the common fund, so instead of desserts, multiple contributions of salads and fruit would be a welcome substitute.

Considerations for Food Choices:
While entering your contribution to the lunch, please take into account what other people have already indicated to ensure a good variety in the food. This will assure that we are not getting four rice dishes or as many desserts.
RSVP:
In order to ensure that we have balanced meals, please indicate your choice preferably by 5 PM on Wednesday. This will allow time for any adjustments in the menu that may be desirable. As always, if you decide at the last minute to come or bring any guest please feel free, there is always enough food to go around.
Reducing Waste:
Everybody is requested to bring and use their own reusable dishes and take these back home for cleaning. We do have a limited supply of dishes for the guests.
Important upcoming Meetings:
1. Seminar by Compassionate Canada: 1:30 to 3:30 PM, Nov. 14, 2019.
Looking forward to seeing you.
Jagjit
