The Community Support Services sector in the City of Ottawa is a multi-agency network of member organizations that deliver community support services throughout urban and rural Ottawa to older adults and adults with physical disabilities to help them maintain health and independence at home in their own communities. Member agencies practice and promote the common goals of community-based, not-for-profit health and social service organizations.
Help is available for seniors and adults with physical disabilities. The OCSC member agencies provide essential services through professionally trained staff and volunteers who care about quality of life. Services are provided in the comfort of home or in the community, respecting individuality and diversity.
Agencies provide essential support services. They help to reduce the isolation and keep people safe. They also play a role of support by providing education for caregivers of seniors and adults with physical disabilities.
Community Support Services are crucial to preventing premature emergency room visits, hospital admissions, acute health care, or long-term care home placement.
