Greetings!
With the start of Summer and warm, sunny weather, there are a lot of outdoor events in our city and in our community. Some of these are listed on the calendar on our website. Check out to see what interests you. It is good to get out and attend/participate, to stay connected with the larger community, to socialize, get some outdoor walking exercise and enhance your body's ability to manufacture its own brand of vitamin D.
This Wednesday, June 26th:
An SPCO (Social Planning Council of Ottawa) sponsored Walkathon will be held on Wednesday, 26th of June at Andrew Haydon Park from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Participants have a choice to walk any distance they want, or just sit and socialize.
Also on this day, various ethnocultural associations will be participating by selling light snacks or drinks, not exceeding $2.00. If any one of you wants to bring and sell anything, please bring a small table to put your food/drink on for selling. Please further note that all proceeds from the sale of your items are to be handed over to Anil Sukhija, as a donation to the ICCC Seniors program.

This being the last Friday of the month, we will be celebrating all June Birthdays. So, if your birthday is in June, please come forward. We will celebrate your birthday together.
2) In the Month of July, we will not have access to the kitchen (it is being renovated). So, we will have to "brainstorm" ideas for how to organize lunches in July.
We can make tea but each one of us will have to bring our own mugs, etc.
3) Many of you sponsored my 10 km race with the City of Ottawa in May. Thank you. We raised over $2,000. An amount of over $1,400 has been contributed to the 'ICCC Seniors Programs.' Also, an amount of over $600 has been contributed to 'Canadians Sharing Locally and Globally.' All the sponsors will get an acknowledgment of their contribution and will receive an official Tax Receipt for all contributions of $20 and over. Thank You, ALL!
