Fellow Seniors, Greetings!

Announcements:

1. Sad News:

Our condolences are to one of our members, Madhu Srivastava, and her family on passing away her father in India.

Also, one member of our walking group, Baljit Nehil, has suddenly passed away in her sleep last weekend, apparently of a heart attack. It is a particularly shocking news, since Baljit was one of the youngest in the group, and seems to be in good health. Our deep sympathies are with her family.

3. ICCC is looking for volunteers to sew cloth masks, as personal protection against coronavirus, for distribution to where the need is. If you would like to contribute to this effort by either donating your labour (sewing) or providing the material, please enter that information at the ICCC website (icccottawa.org) or let me know (call or email).

Last Meeting: June 11, 2020

About 10-15 people joined for this meeting. At this meeting, I made a presentation on the health effect of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the wireless network. It was based on a conference I attended in early June. Here, experts expressed their opinions with particular reference to 5th Generation network which may be coming soon. This employs frequency 10-20 times that are currently used in wifi. Such high frequencies has the potential to disrupt the working of the cell of our bodies, in particular of heart, brain, nerves and reproductive system. These health effects have not be fully studied. Furthermore, we may not get any choice in not being exposed to such radiation field because the transmitter may be placed on an electric pole right outside of a bedroom window.


This Meeting: June 18, 2020

We will have our usual songs and poetry recital. Invariably, there will be some questions and discussion about how coronavirus could affect our lives in the months, and perhaps years, to come.

Please let me know well in advance, if you would like to make a presentation on some topic of common interest.
