Dear Friends,

Greetings!

Tomorrow, 1st July, is Canada Day. A federal statutory holiday. We celebrate the 153rd anniversary of July 1, 1867, the effective date of the Constitution Act, 1867. It used to be called the British North America Act, 1867. This Act united the three separate colonies of the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick into a single Dominion, and was initially celebrated as "Dominion Day." Since 1983, July 1st has been officially know as Canada Day and has been celebrated extensively throughout Canada. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the celebrations and events are virtual. Check out the Government of Canada website and the City of Ottawa website to see what is planned.

Last Friday, approximately 45 members attended the Zoom Meeting. We acknowledged the 35th anniversary of the untimely and tragic death of the passengers and crew on board the Air India Flight 182 in 1985. Observed a minute of silence and prayed for their Souls to Rest In Peace. We also wished a very happy Birthday to our members born in the month of June. Kudos to our Members for stitching and distributing Cloth Face Masks for ICCC Members and Frontline Workers. It is very much appreciated by ICCC and by the Recipients.
