Dear Friends,
Greetings!
Last Friday almost 50 members attended the weekly Zoom meeting.
Its been a Festive Season for Hindus all over the world. In the last 2 weeks we have celebrated Navratri, Dassehra, Karwa Chauth, and now getting ready to Celebrate Diwali, and our Sikh Brethren are Celebrating Bandi Chhor. Diwali and Bandi Chhod are on the 14th November this year.
Diwali is celebrated all over India as a festival symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. In North Indian traditions of Diwali, it is celebrated to honour the victory of Shree Rama over King Ravana, and Shree Rama's return home after an exile of 14 years.
Bandi Chhor celebrates a Sikh historic event related to the sixth Guru, Guru HarGobind Singh Ji. According to Sikh history, on this day, Guru Hargobind Singh Ji, along with 52 other Hindu kings, were released from prison by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir .
We are Celebrating Diwali ( virtually, on Zoom ) on Thursday the 12th of November. 6pm-8pm
You have already been sent the Zoom Log-in info by the ICCC Chair, Mr. Anil Sukhija. Here it is again : https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84120972480pw ... dLMmIyZz09
